Deeds in Anson Co. NC show a Randolph Cheek received a grant in 1767 which he sold in 1769; also a deed dated 1772 with wife Nancy. He was of Rowan Co. NC in 1769. He is not in Anson Co. in the 1790 census, but a John Cheek is.
He was born in 1920 Magoffin County, KY and died in 1996 in Dallas County,
TX.
Thanks,
Rosemary

Message Board Post:
Hi. I'm researching a CHEEK line that I can only take back to John Early CHEEK and Sarah PALMER for right now. They married in about 1893 in Conway, Faulkner Co., AR. I found them in the 1900 Hill County TX census. It said that he was born in Mississippi in 1870. I found some information elsewhere indicating he might have been in Newton Co., Miss. I found a family that has a child of the right age in the 1870 Newton County Mississippi Census. The parents were
John B. CHEEK and Harriet. I found information indicating that this is John Burris CHEEK and Harriet WOODHAM.
What I have been trying to do is establish a definite link between my John Early CHEEK and this John Burris CHEEK. I have been unable to verify (so far) that they are son/father. By any chance, does someone have something that would help?
Thank you!
-Erin-

Hello Paul
it could be Fines Jackson. In my records its Fines J., he was born 6 March 1858 to William and Nancy Adline (Cheek) Hanley, and mairied to Viola Comella Davis, in 1902, and died 7 Dec. 1906. The info on his name, birth and death came from William and Nancy's bible and 1880 cencus..

I don't have a "Fines J." in my list for this family, but I have a "Jackson", ...might this be the same person?

Looking for the proof of the ancestry of Alfred John (or John Alfred) WILLIAMS, b. abt. 1822, probably in Lee CoVA, d. abt. 1885, Lee CoVA, m. Delilah CHEEK abt. 1858. The couple lived and had children in Back Valley, Lee CoVA, she dying there in 1867, I believe in childbirth. He remarried, to Susannah (BALL?) and had additional children. Seeking any direction toward proving his parents. Could they be Hezekiah WILLIAMS and Jane HALL? All help appreciated.
