Hello all,
I would like to ask if any of you good people know the name(s) of Jeremiah Cheek's parents, siblings, etc...
Jeremiah Cheek was born, supposedly, 4 July 1763 in Orange Co., NC. He died in Bedford Co., TN in 1823.
Does anybody have documented proof of these dates? How about his marriage to Tabitha Houston? Was her last name Houston?
Jeremiah Cheek was my 3rd great-grandfather. He is buried in the Algie Phifer Garden, located in Lewisburg, TN.
His son Benjamin R. Cheek was my 2nd great-grandfather. Benjamin R. Cheek was born in 1812, Orange Co., NC and died 1865 in Verona, Marshall, TN. He was married to Nancy 'Nannie' E. Harrington. She was born in 1814 in Orange Co., NC and died in 1874 in Verona, Marshall, TN. Benjamin R. Cheek and Nancy E. Harrington Cheek are both buried in the Whitesell Cemetery in Verona, Marshall, TN.
Thank you,
Kena Cheek Smith
Looking for any information on
William Cheek b 12/22/1728 London England d 1799 Bedford County Virginia
Married Elizabeth Lindal b 1730 England
Children William, Stelly, Thomas, Henry, John, James Hill,
Nicholas
Folks,
At some time in the past, all of you (in my "Send-To" listing; not the "Copy
To" folks) have written about my genealogical webpage (below) featuring the
JARVIS, BAUGUESS, BENGE, MOCK, BLACKBURN, MONEY, BLACKWELL, PARDUE, BROOKS,
PARKS, CHAMBERS, ROYAL(L), CHEEK, SALE, COOK, SEAGRAVES, CREEKMORE, SPARKS,
CURRY, STIMSON, ELMORE, SWAIM, USSERY, GRAVES, GRAY, GREGORY and HARRIS
families of the Yadkin, Surry, Wilkes North Carolina area (from England, VA,
MD 1615-present).
I will be publishing a book in the Spring-Summer featuring these
primary families (350 pages from 1,200 of familial data) which tie to my
family tree. I would like to include as many 1800 - early 1900 photos as
possible of the members of these above families which tie to individuals
mentioned on my site. If you would like to contribute any known photos of
individuals mentioned on my site <A
HREF="http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/JeffreyLWilliams/WILLIAMS/index.htm">
Cheek, Williams, Sparks Lineage</A> I would be very glad to add them to the
book.
I am publishing this book primarily for my (large) family members, but
will add to the print run for those of you who may be interested. A warning
though, although I plan to just cover expenses ... as it will be a relatively
limited (i.e. small) print run (approx 100-150), it won't be inexpensive,
probably close to $100 each (I already have approx 50 photos in it). For
photo contributions used I will acknowledge your contribution in the book (as
I have for Mr. D.L. Parks story contribution). Thank you, Jeffrey Williams
Is anyone doing lookups for the Yadkin and/or Wilkes County 1900 and 1910
census? If so, could you please lookup the families (all siblings) of:
1) Ulysses "Ule" Caldwell Cheek m. Lula Elizabeth "Betty" Se(a)graves
2) Santford "Sant" Cheek m. Collie Gregory
3) A(aron?). Frank Cheek m. Mary Elizabeth "Lizzy" Stuart
4) William Henry Cheek m. Julia Pinnix ... thanks very much, Jeff Williams
