I have hit brick walls beyound Wm Euphrates Cheek and wife (m. 1861 Hamilton
Co, IL) Nancy Jane Ham (Her father may have been John). Their children were:
Frances; Wm Sherman; John or Earl Shelby; Clifford Thomas; Milo Milton; and my
granddad, Melvin Walter. W E & NJ were married 1861, she was 17. W E may
have gone by "Freight." W E may have had Cheek relatives "N. C." and
"Permeleon" Cheek (adjoining property). Nancy Had a Sister Libba (may have
been interpreted as "Sibba") If theres any small chance any of these
connect< Ild really appreciate hearing!

Cheek/Waddle Marriages. I found 4. They all migrated to Ga. Do you know if

I have sent this before, but am trying a new twist. Is anyone aware of Amos
being a nickname for anyone? I have heard there were Quaker settlements in NC
and that he may have been in one of those with his wife Ann and their
children. Then left and came to Georgia in 1840's where he shows up on
census. Trouble is I do not know what county in NC he came from and have not
found his name in any wills or property transactions. Anyone have any advise,
I am completely stuck. Thanks.

Regarding the children of William Cheek, son of John and Martha Perdieu Cheek:
On the 1900 census in Monroe County, IL, William is listed with his wife,
Charlotte (Sickmeier) and their son, Benjamin (4). Also listed are her
children Lottie (18), Charles (16), August (14), Mena (12) and Albert (9)
Sickmeier.
Only William and Benjamin were listed together in 1910 in Monroe County, IL.
Good Luck,
