Marmaduke Cheatham and Thomas Cheatham are both R1a1. Other DNA results may be on Chatham/Cheatham Project with FTDNA, where the R1B DNA's might find a connection. Goopd luck you R1b's

My CHEATHAM'S came from Tennessee and Kentucky and ended up in Fannin Co. & Grayson Co. Texas about 65 miles southeast of Dallas. Time period early/mid 1880's. -1900's. The Cheatham's are on my father's side (CRAVEN/S.
I see by my Family Tree sheet that ANNA/E? CHEATHAM was my father SAMUEL LAWRENCE CRAVENS' great grandmother (maternal side) who married MARTIN PERRY. They had a daughter LETTIE PERRY who married EDMOND CLEVELAND. They had a daughter TEXANA CLEVELAND who married AD (ADAM) CRAVENS who are my father Sam's parents and my grandparents.
Do you have any more information on your CHEATHAM's?
Ethel Craven-Sweet

Have you tried DNA testing? This would be a great project to help find your
roots and I believe that FTDNA has a Cheatham/ Chatman project going right
now. Check it out at www.familytreedna.com
