Hello all you Cheathams out there. Did you happen to see on the recent viewing of the Civil War on PBS that a photo of one of our famous Cheatham's, General Benjamin Cheatham, was shown during the program? Pretty exciting! I wanted to let everyone know that there have been several Cheatham descendants of Thomas (Joe) and Marmaduke(Christopher) have had DNA studies done at FTDNA through the Dugger Project. The story being that my gggggm Lydia Dugger had 3 illegitimate children with Marmaduke Cheatham in 1747 VA. Our quest was to see if descendants of Lydia's son John Dugger were indeed carrying Cheatham DNA. This was proven to be correct with the DNA studies, as tested from 3 different Cheatham direct line males. I would like to invite any direct line Cheathams (must be a male carrying the last name of Cheatham) to test their Y-DNA with the Dugger DNA Project. For further details please contact me. I am especially interested in descendants of Marmaduke, but any Cheath!
am is welcome to test through our project. PLUS you get a discount by going through our project! You can even set up a testing project of your own for Cheathams once enough tests are begun. This is a fantastic tool for family research and I urge you clarify your lineage by DNA testing.
