If anyone needs any help in placing their Cheatham family within the family tree, feel free to contact me through this forum or directly at WTCheatham(a)aol.com - I have a large database of Cheathams throughout the country and chances are pretty good that I will be able to place your family - Most Cheathams descend from the immigrant Thomas Cheatham who died 1726 in Henrico Co. Va. - Looking forward to hearing from you - Bill Cheatham

Courtney Cheatham was residing in Lynchburg Va. in 1920 & 1930. His wife appears to be Sallie Johnson and their children appear to be Louis, Fred, Arline, Alise & Courtney. However, there's no William Edward listed as a son. Feel free to contact me directly at WTCheatham(a)aol.com if you'd like to discuss in more detail. Bill Cheatham

I am searching for the descendants of the above Marmaduke Cheatham and wife Susannah Rookings. His sons were John, Benjamin,James and Joseph; daughters Ann,Elizabeth,Sarah, all b. in VA, probably Surry Co or Chesterfield Co. I believe that at least one of his sons (James?) moved on to NC,AL, and possibly TN or KY. I have not been able to produce proof of birth, deaths or marriages for these children. Marmaduke didn't leave much trace of himself, other than some deeds and his will which names his children.I'd like to find out where his kids disappeared to.
Thanks,
Carol Dugger
