Hi, I posted before about George and Anna (Webster) Cheetham before but I found extra information about some of their children. The children I know about now are below with where they were in March, 1952.
Mrs. Sherman Morris lived in Invenary, Ontario.
Mrs. Jennie (also named Elizabeth) Horton born 1874 lived in Lansdowne, Ontario who married Richard Horton.
Mrs. Theresa McCullough who lived in Lansdowne, Ontario
Joseph Cheetham born December 1st, 1886 who lived in Gananoque.
Emily Elizabeth Cheetham born November 9th, 1872 who lived in Oshawa, Ontario and married William McDougall.
The family would accidently be listed on the 1881 census as the Chutham's. On the census during the birth of their first child William E. Cheetham, George would have been 26 yrs old while Anna would have been 13 yrs old (Was this common back then?) But then they wouldn't have married until 10 yrs later in 1870. Is it possible that a 26 yr old marrying a 13 yr old even with the familes permission was illegal in 1860 so she had to wait until she was 23 in 1870 to marry George?
George's wife Anne died about 1925-1930 in in Escott while living with her daughter Anne. I heard on the genealogy website that my Anne Webster was the daughter of Edward, The Tanner, who first set up in Escott and then Morton. He disappears after the 1861 census. He was the son of Captain Edward of 1798 fame.
If that is true then Anne wasn't MicMac which I am willing to except.
One complication that I have had is that there were two George W Cheetham's living in Leeds and both married on the same day in Leeds on 1 Aug 1870. It doesn't seem to make sense. I have a strong feeling that the
George W Cheetham 35 Leeds Robert / Betsy Annie Webster 26 Leeds
Edward / Jane Aug 1, 1870 Farms 237
marriage is the George and Anne that I am searching for.
I am interested in death dates, birth dates and possible burial locations or anything else that might help me to get started on this road block that I have had.
Thank you to those who have helped me so far. And a thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out with the new information that I have come across.

Hi, I am trying to find information on my great great grandmother's parents.
Her name was Emily (Emma) Elizabeth Cheetham. She was born November 9th,
1872 in Clarendon-Lyndhurst Twp., Granville County, Ontario and died March
19th, 1952 in Oshawa, Durham County, Ontario and is buried in Mount Lawn
cemetery, Oshawa. She married William Gordon McDougall Sr. on July 1st,
1891. Her fathers name George Cheetham born approx. 1835 in Upper Canada
and Anne (poss. Anna) born approx. 1847 in Upper Canada. I was told by a relative
that Anne was a full MicMac Native American and George was a Minister (priest).
I am not sure if this is true and won't know until I can verify it through
a resource. I may have possibably tracked down my great great great grandfather
George Cheetham at http://www.rootsweb.com/~onleedsg/docs/ld_mar.htm with
the data:
George W Cheetham 35 Leeds Robert / Betsy Annie Webster 26 Leeds
Edward / Jane Aug 1, 1870 Farms 237
I also may have found him at http://www.islandnet.com/cgi-bin/ms2/jveinot/search
with the data:
CHEETHAM George W. Lyndhurst Village Leeds R. Leeds & Lansdowne L&G-87-5
I am really stuck at a road block after Emily Cheetham in
my family tree. If someone with the resources could please help me to verify
this research I would be very thankful. Thanks.
