This is a longshot...I was wondering if you have pursued your English CHEATAM surname?
Can you take a look your family TREE and see if we have a connection?
I show a Henry STRUTHER SCOTT b. November 23, 1867 in London, England son of Robert SCOTT m Sarah CHEATAM or STRUTHER.
Henry STRUTHER SCOTT m. Harriet LONGSON, b. Feb 21, 1868 in Manchester, England.
Her parents were: James LONGSON b. (London?) England m. Annie SIDEBOTTOM b.(Manchester?) England both abt 1840. It appears that their daughter Harriet left England about 1876 at the age of 9... and settled in Manchester, NH. I am assuming that her parents left then also! They had two other children also Lizzie b. 1871 and Wallace.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me on the SCOTTs, CHEATAMS, (of LONDON) and James LONGSON b. abt 1840 & Annie SIDEBOTTOM b. abt 1840 Evidently the Sidebottoms are from the Stockport & Manchester areas of England.
Thank YOU!

I am also trying to locate a Cheatham family in Knox Co. Tn. I am looking for Walter Cheatham, or a Sallie Cheatham who married a James B. McGaha. Sallie died young, maybe around 1913. Walter lived in Harrison OH, (Cincinnati) area around 1920. He was married to a Pearl Meade.
Hope someone knows something about this family.

Magaret have you tried from McCormick County, Edgefield County, SC. I have
lots of Cheatham information but no Mary Emma. But I think the man I have
listed below may have some of that information.
There is a cousin named OUTZ who has lots of Cheatham information. You can
find some of his information at ROOTSWEB. his name listed there is
rawboots2. I don't have his email address handy but he may have what you are
looking for. Hope this helps you find some clues.

I am looking for any relatives of Mary Emma Cheatham. She is my GreatGrandmother. The resources that I have been able to check (on-line census, Family Bible, etc.) are able to give me her Mother's name as Sallie C. Cheatham, No D.O.B., D.O.D., Husband's name, etc. I have been searching for this information for quite a long time. The only thing I know for sure is that Mary Emma married Frederick Marshall Taylor (supposed birth in same County & State) and that they had 12 or 13 children, one of whom was my Grandmother, Ozora Taylor. Any info. that anyone has out there would be greatly appreciated.

To the person who wrote in about her gggrandfather, James Cheatham, I think
that might be a brother to my gggfrandfather Josiah Cheattham. He had a
brother Robert, JOHN, James C. and Jesse. Sisters Susanna and Virginia,
twins. Then my Josiah was a brother to James also.
Do you have more information on your James and his family? Would love to
share information to see if there is a connection here.
Thanks for any thing you might can help me with.
