Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hello everyone,
I've been asked to pass along to you the following message.
While Rootsweb takes Friday off, this would be a good time to visit GenForum
or some of the online gen databases....
Genealogy Forum - message boards -- http://www.genforum.com/
FamilySearch - Mormon/LDS records -- http://www.familysearch.com/
Custom Search - http://www.familysearch.com/Search/searchaf.aspAncestry.com - over 600 million names -- http://www.ancestry.com/
GenCircles - new site, but a good one -- http://www.gencircles.com/
FirstFamilies - a registry - http://business.gorge.net/aff/dbindex.htm
Good luck in your research!

Starting at 8 a.m. PST (11 a.m. EST; 4 p.m. GMT)
on Friday, 23 February, RootsWeb will begin a
planned temporary downtime for maintenance of its servers
and hosting process. It will limit this downtime as much as
possible, and will return with increased performance and
reliability for future growth.
The downtime should take no longer than 24 hours.
In the meantime, please take time to visit RootsWeb's sister
sites -- Ancestry.com and FamilyHistory.com -- where you will
find additional tools such as message boards, communities,
and databases to help you in the search for your ancestors.
Thank you for your patience.

To Claude
I don't know about how knowledgeable I am. However, I have been to Edgefield
county, Libary and Have made several contacts with other researcher on The
Peter Cheatham and Elizabeth Thurmond Line.
So I can't take credit for all of the information.
This line is connected to Senator Strom Thurmond of SC. And his history is
also documented at the Edgefield County, Library
I live within in driving distance of Edgefield and planning a trip soon to
take pictures of all of the Cheathams buried in Edgefield County.

Claude,
You can contact Annette Ditto at Sthang11(a)aol.com or Frances Smith at
ftsmith(a)peop.tdsnet. Either of these ladies can fill you in on Peter
Cheatham and Elizabeth Thurmond. They have very detailed research on both of
these people. My husband comes from this line and these ladies are very
knowledgeable. If you can't reach them you may contact me thru my email.
