Big brick wall: MARTHA A. CHEATHAM m. Joseph T. STIPE 30 Oct 1884 in
Hawkins Co TN, official John Allen; bondsman John Altom. Martha died 26 Mar
1900 most likely in Hawkins Co TN but have been unable to locate place of
burial or death record. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
I have gotten back as far as Frank Newton Cheatham buried in Franklin County Georgia 1893. Died in early 40's of pneumonia.
His son, Thomas Luther Cheatham, Sr,. Commerce Georgia died about 1976
Trying to go back further. Does anyone have any ideas?
A short response to roll-call request: John Ammerman married Minervia
Cheatum 15 Nov 1855 <Lewis County> Missouri
Minervia daughter of Archibald Cheatum (b 1796, VA; d 1 Dec 1854, Lewis
Co, MO) Archibald married Esther Hare 16 Dec 1816 in Lincoln Co., KY.
A Leonard Cheatum signed marriage bond. Relationship unknown--presumed
by many to be Archibald's father.
Dead end from there-on. There is speculation that Leonard was
Archibald's father, and that an Archer Cheatum was Leonard's father. No
proofs.

Hello CHEATHAM Cousins,
Our family mailing list has grown considerably since it began last year, and
many on the list are new subscribers with family information that may be just
what someone else needs. Sooo, let's start a modified ROLL CALL that will
get the ball rolling...
Rather than post your entire CHEATHAM family from beginning to end, let's
call for your earliest 3 or 4 generations, or any other 3 or 4 generations
along the line you choose. Be sure to include any full names, dates, and
locations you may have. Be respectful of living persons, however, and do not
share dates for them. That should give enough information to find a
long-lost cousin in the group, and it will certainly add valuable lineage
material to the searchable archives....8-)
Good luck, everyone!
