Attention Hughes and Cheathams from around the Hughes Springs TX area.
Have you ever heard of an article belonging to a Mrs. J. E. Cheatham of
Pittsburg, TX entitled "A Record of How the Hughes Started or Became
Americanized" It deals with Robert Hughes, one of the early settlers of
Hughes Springs TX, and the history of Robert's father George Hughes.
I am a great, great granddaughter of Joseph Perrin Hughes, son of Robert
Hughes who stayed in MS to marry Phella Bains Dent when the other family
members moved on to Texas.
If you are related to this family in any way, please contact me. I would
like to share some most interesting information about the family that I
came across this summer, and would like to know if anyone has any proof
relating to this tale.
