I am looking for more information about the Maynor family. I will begin with Oscar Maynor (also spelled Manor). He was born in 1902 (or 1094) in Georgia. He married Lilly Mae Jones. I believe Oscar had a few siblings; Maggie Maynor b.1896, August Maynor b.1899, Vica? Maynor b.1901, Beauford Maynor b.1904, and Dewey Maynor b. 1910.
I believe Oscar's parents to be Preston Maynor b.1868 (or 1870) NC and Lula Maynor b.1878 GA. Preston and Lula were married in 1895.
I have seen in a few censuses that Preston had siblings named Jordan b.1860, NC, Clarisa b. 1863, NC, Polly b. 1866 NC, John b. 1870, NC, Kesiah b. 1872, NC and Melinda b. 1876, NC.
Using this information, I was able to find Preston's parents. who I believe to be Angus Maynor, b. 1832, NC and Effy Ann Chavis Maynor, b. 1837, NC.
Now when I look at some family trees, Preston's name is not listed as a child, or Preston's last name is not listed as a Maynor, but as Chavis. This has gotten me quite stumped, because now I am unsure if Angus and Effy are Preston's real parents or not?
Does anyone have any info that I can use to confirm that Preston Maynor is in fact the child of Angus and Effy?
Thank you in advance!
Shannon M
