Stephen was born around 1890 in NC. He moved with his family to Santa Rosa County, FL early 1900's. His parents are Cain and Isabella Chavis. He was in the military, I think the Army. His wife's name was Nellie. He was in San Antonio, TX in 1948.
I am doing research on the Cain & Isabella Chavis family and have very little information about Stephen. I would appreciate any correspondence from his family or others who may have done research on his family.

Betty Mitchell Busch

Buffy Pithford,
I read your other post on Cora Chavis and George Hinson and the children that they had together. I believe it was Minnie, Mary, Clarence, Ollie, and George. I AM related to you. Clarence Hinson married Anna May Gregg. They had a three sons named Frank Hinson, Kenneth Timothy Hinson, and John Hinson. I am the daughter of Kenneth Timothy Hinson. He goes by Tim Hinson. I am 13 years old. I believe that makes us cousins. My great gmother and gfather are the Cora Chavis/ Hinson and George Hinson. Frank Hinson and John Hinson are my uncles. I have a sister named Rachel Hinson! EMail me asap! I would like to get to know you better. babee_whizzpaz(a)yahoo.com. By the way, My grandfather, Clarence, Always told my dad that we were Cherokee. Are you sure you might be lumbee? We always thought that we were cherokee. Hope I helped. Thanks!
