Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Have info on a William & a Lazarus, what time periods are you talking about?
There is a William CHAVER listed in the SC REV War roster, enlisted in the 1st
Regt on 7 Apr 1777. national # 853... I would check the SC Archives of Rootsweb
to see if there is anything on REV WAR

These three notices/obituaries were in the Augusta Chronicle, I believe.
Do not know if there were other Augusta papers. Some of these clippings
omitted the date.
MRS. MARY CHAVOUS LAST RITES MONDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice Chavous, who died Monday, will be
conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at Barton Chapel Methodist church. The Rev.
E. E. Cadle will officiate, assisted by the Rev. W. H. Boswell. Interment
will be in the Passworth Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Henry Jones, Jr., Jackie Chavous, Larry Thompson,
Herman Ivey, Harold Earnest, and W. A. Ivey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Walker, Rosell Chavous, Robert T.
Chavous, Joe D. Chavous, Sr., Cletus Chavous, Wylie Gibbs, Raymond Chavous,
and James Corley.
The remains will be at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Edna E. Chavous,
New McDuffie Road.
Mrs. Mary A. Chavous
Mrs. Mary Alice Chavous, wife of the late John B. Chavous, died yesterday
at a local hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Elliott
Sons.
Mrs. Chavous, a native of Augusta, resided on McDuffie road. Shw was a
member of Barton Chapel Church.
Survivors are three sons, William M., Frank and Thomas Chavous, all of
Augusta; five daughters, Mrs. Leola D. Thompson, Mrs. Pearl Jones, Mrs.
Ruth Ivey, Mrs. Edna Chavous and Mrs. Bertha Ivey, all of Augusta; 23 grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren; brother, I. B. Chavous of Augusta; two sisters,
Mrs. W. W. Walker and Mrs. Lucius S. Corley of Augusta.
CHAVOUS: ENTERED INTO REST April 19, 1954 at 2:20 p.m., MRS. MARY ALICE
CHAVOUS, widow of Mr. John B. Chavous. Funeral services will be conducted
at the Barton Chapel Methodist Church TOMORROW (Friday) AFTERNOON at 3:00
o'clock, the Rev. E. E. Cadle officiating, assisted by the Rev. W. H. Boswell.
Remains will be at the funeral home. Interment Passworth Cemetery.

26 Sep 1939. This would have appeared in the Augusta Chronicle.
JOHN B. CHAVOUS, 61, DIES AT RESIDENCE; RITES TO BE TODAY
John B. Chavous, 61, died at his home ..1 miles on the Milledgeville road,
yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock after an extended illness.
He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of this county.
Funeral services will be held at Bartons Chapel this afternoon at 3 o'clock
with interment following in Passworth Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Aline [Alice] Chavous; three sons, Willie
Chavous, Tom Chavous, both of Augusta, and Frank Chavous, Richmond county;
five daughters, Mrs. Leola Thompson, Mrs. Pearl Jones, Mrs. Bertha Ivey,
Mrs Ruth Ivey, and Miss Eda [Edna] Chavous, all of this county; a brother,
Jim Chavous, and a sister, Miss Della Chavous, and 15 grandchildren.
