Georgia Becerra, 49, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 10, 2004. Georgia is the beloved mother to Gabriel Becerra and Dominic Becerra. Georgia is also survived by two sisters, Linda Chavez, Mary Helen Serros and husband, Billy; two brothers, Mike Chavez and wife, Ernestine and Fred Chavez; four grandchildren, Daniel, Victoria, Alex and Adrian; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ducenia Chavez. A visitation for Georgia will be Friday evening from 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A Service will follow the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. by Billy Serros. Pallbearers will be, Mike Chavez, Fred Chavez, Gabriel Becerra, Dominic Becerra, Louie Serros and Ronnie Serros. Cremation will follow. Arrangements by: Gabaldon Mortuary 1000 Old Coors Rd. Albuquerque Journal - February 11, 2004
Edward R. Chavez, 33, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2004. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Los Chavez. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in January of 2001, and received a bone marrow transplant in Tucon, Arizona in April 2001. He was in remission until August of 2003 when he was diagnosed with another form of Leukemia. He fought his disease bravely until the end, was courageous and never complained about what he was going through. He enjoyed going hunting, and loved spending time outdoors. Edward was very loved by his family, and was an excellent husband. An infant daughter Kaylin preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by his loving wife, Veronica; his father, Eduardo Chavez and his wife, Rosemary of Cubero; his mother, Ellen Chavez of Belen; his grandmother, Thelma Piffer of Kingman, Arizona; his sisters, Tina Chavez, Frances Chavez, and Paula Chavez; his brothers, Jason Chavez, Chris Chavez and his wife, !
Rhonda, and Agustine Sanchez; and many other loving family members and friends. A memorial service for Edward will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Los Chavez with Brother Boyd Morerod officiating. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Lorraine Sanchez and all of Edwards's caregivers for all of their support. Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Home in Belen, 864-4448.

CHAVEZ, ROSALIE L. Born in San Diego on September 24, 1942, passed away on November 25, 2003 at home surrounded by family after a 3 year battle with cancer. She is survived by sons, Alfred of San Diego, Andrew (Thelma) of San Diego, Ruben of Monterrey and Reyes (Blanca) of Lancaster, CA; their father Reyes O. Chavez of San Diego; grandchildren AJ, Santana, Bianca and Gabriella Chavez; brothers, Joe Orosco Jr. of Arizona, Steve (Nani) Lara Jr. of New Mexico and sisters Becky (Charles) Infanger of Alaska, Jeannie Lara-Lugo (Oscar) of Lancaster, CA. and step-father Steve C. Lara of Lancaster, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by infant son, Anthony Chavez, sister Debbie Lara, mother Marie C. Rosalie Lucy Chavez, 61, of San Diego died Tuesday. She was born in San Diego and was a food server for Premier Food Services. Philip L. Chavez, was reunited with his mother, father, and brothers, on Wednesday, February 4, 2004. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victorino and Maria Chavez; and brothers, Joe and Tommy Chavez. Philip is survived by his sons; Raymond "Dino" and wife Patricia, Errol and wife Pam, Lonnie Chavez, and Ronnie and wife Debbie; daughter, Liz Duran; grandchildren, Vanessa, Adrian, Victor, Iris, Santiago, Ronnie II, Elysia, Sara, and Raymond Chavez, Anthony and Sarina Duran, Desaray Valdez, and Isaiah Baca; brother, Lawrence Chavez; sisters, Carmen Sisneros and husband Pancho, and Rosie Duran; many other nieces and nephews, family and friends who loved and will miss him. Philip's life long passion was baseball. He loved watching his sons and grandsons play. He was a permanent fixture at Coronado Little League always in the "front row". Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 6, 2004, at 7:00 !

RYLIE CHAVEZ TRUJILLO of Santa Fe died suddenly Wednesday.
She was a member of St. Francis Cathedral and Santa Fe Country Club. She loved to play bridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eddie and Julian; and sisters, Crucita and Lucille.
She is survived by her husband, Joe D. Trujillo; daughter, Sheila Trujillo Calhoun; sisters, Jennie Guzman and Corrine Sandoval; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. today at St. Francis Cathedral with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Benito Roger Chavez, 68, was pronounced dead on August 1, 1998. He was born on December 29, 1930 and lived most of his life in Albuquerque. He is survived by his daughter, Anjala Chavez; his grandson, Angel Chavez; his sons, Ron and Brian Chavez, all of Albuquerque. After completing service in the Navy, Benito operated"Ben's Food Bin", a South Valley grocery store. Later in life, he derived pleasure from both vegetable and flower gardening. Another interest he had was in the local chili market. He supplied chili and produce to his many friends. Benito loved animals and had an especially deep attachment to his dogs. His presence will be missed. A Rosary will be recited by Charles Aguilar on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Place SE. Mast will follow. Burial of cremated remains will take place Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
