Mrs. Juanita H. Chavez, 83, a resident of Albuquerque passed away December 22, 2003 peacefully at home with her loved ones by her side. Mrs. Chavez is the beloved wife of 57 years to Mr. Ernesto Aragon Chavez. Mrs. Chavez is survived by one daughter, Gloria Perea and husband, Victor; one son, Manuel Chavez; one sister, Rosalina and husband, Mario; one brother, Benny Herrera; four grandchildren, Denise Salguero and husband, Jesse, Audrey Perea, Mark Perea and wife, Andrea, Robyn Moreno and husband, Jaime; nine great grandchildren, Alicia, April, Samantha, Jay, Shantell, Gabriel, Savannah, Amaya and Brandon; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carlota was preceded in death by a daughter, Bessie Naranjo and her husband Adam. Aurora Chavez Lawrence, 81, died peacefully Friday, September 15, 2003 after a long illness. Born in Richards, NM on January 25, 1922, Mrs. Lawrence later graduated from the University of New Mexico, B.A. cum laude, in 1979 and M.A. in English in 1985. After a lifetime of executive and administrative duties, including UNM, the Air Force Special Weapons Center, Kirtland Air Force Base, she was proudest, perhaps, of having taught freshman English at UNM while a graduate assistant. She is survived by her husband, Robert H. (Bob) Lawrence; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Gorman III of Hampton, CT, Deirdre Lawrence and Tim Reitano of Lilburn, GA, and Barbara and the Rev. Alan Littlejohn of Garland, TX; a granddaughter, Jennifer Lawrence Reitano, a Georgia State University student; and many other relatives and close friends. A Vigil Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2003 at Aquinas Newman Center, 1805 Lomas Blvd NE, on the UNM c!

Richard A. Chavez, 44, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 17, 2003. Richard is survived by his parents, Tony and Connie Chavez; two sisters, Bernice Chavez and husband, Cruz Mirabal, Diane Lucero and husband, Jim; one brother, Ray Chavez and wife, Jerri; fiancee, Bellina Luchetti; friends, Dillinger, Azuma and Pharoh; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; also friends of Bill W. and Yaweeh Aloheim. Richard was a great mechanic, race car driver and loved fishing, football, hunting and music. Richard had a huge heart and would willingly assist everyone in times of need. Michelle Meriam Chavez, 30, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, December 5, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Brian Ervin; son, Robert Ervin, daughter, Aimee Ervin; father, Eleuterio (Henry) Chavez and wife, Deborah, all of Albuquerque; mother, Wanda Lucero of Everett, WA; grandmother, Audrey Stevens of Albuquerque; grand father Shelby Brown of Tennessee and numerous aunts, cousins, relatives and friends. Michelle was preceded in death by her grandparents. She worked at Wells Fargo on 4th Street for the past three years. Michelle loved her kids and always made time for them.
