Reyes-
Nettie Reyes-Stafford lost her long battle with cancer on February 27, 1998. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo S. and Adelida Chavez; also her two sisters, Lucy Ramirez and Adelia Apodaca; and three brothers, Gene Chavez, Henry Chavez and Raymond Ramirez. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Mario M. Reyes and Don Stafford. Nettie was born in Los Chavez, NM on December 20, 1921. She went to Armijo Elementary School, Washington Middle School, and graduated from Albuquerque High School. When she was in high school she went to work at St. Josephs Hospital. From St. Josephs she went to work for Dr. A.J. Tanny for 34 years as a receptionist, nurses assistant. Upon his passing away, she worked for Dr. L.G. Rice for five years and upon his retirement, she worked for Dr. Stephen Wolcott for three years. She decided to try her hand at home nursing and did so for ten years. How she loved her job, helping anyone was her pastime. She also worked for her daughter!
and son-in-law, and raised her granddaughter for ten years, enjoying going to Osuna Elementary School and helping in the classroom. She also enjoyed taking her granddaughter to La Vida Llena nursing home where they volunteered. Nettie was dedicated to helping anyone who needed her and it showed when she herself was ill and all the outpouring of people who helped her daughter take care of her. Nettie is survived by her three children; her son, David Reyes, whom she depended on so much; her daughter, Patti Van Pelt and husband, Dave, whom Nettie loved; her daughter, Stephanie Cloud and husband, Al from Ft. Worth, TX, whom Nettie was so proud of. Gramma Nettie also has four beautiful grandchildren, Dave Van Pelt Jr., her"one and only" for years, and his wife, Nicole from Lansing, MI, Jackie, the love of her life, Cameron Reyes-Miller, her"special" hito, and little Jordan, whom she cherished, both from Ft. Worth, TX. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Chavez and wife,!
Connie from Albuquerque; and her sister-in-law, Josephine Chavez from San Diego, CA. Other survivors include many cousins, nephews, nieces, and so many friends, too many to mention, but I must mention a few, Mary Lou Myer, Mary Garfield, Charley and Sue Maloney, Ann Burke, Jamie Morley, Alice Romero, Frances Blair, JoAnn Miller, Patti Sugg, Joy Hayes, Tara Everett, and so many others that she loved. A thank you to her special niece, Cathy Howe and all the time she devoted to her"Auntie" when she needed her most. Also to her niece, Sylvia Finn from Las Vegas, NV, who flew out to take care of her aunt and gave her daughter a chance to take a break. Thanks to her new friends from Hospice, without them families cannot go on without their special care and concern for not only the patient, but the caregiver and their family. Jo Jo, Martha and Sarah are ever so special and the whole organization is wonderful. A private service will be held for the family at Nettie's request and a !
memorial mass will be held on Saturday, March 14, 10:00 a.m., at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Community with a reception following the mass. We will miss a beautiful lady and a super mom and grandmother. She was a helper to all who crossed her path and can now help the angels. Good-bye to a Classy Lady. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mental Health Center, 2600 Marble NE 87106, or to the American Liver Foundation, 1425 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009.

I am trying to gather information on the descendants of Nepomuseno Chavez. He had sons named Cesario and Sebastian. Cesario married Dorotea Hernandez and they had 11-13 children. Among them, Carmen, Josefa, Julio, Camilla, and Julia. I believe that the children of Cesario may have been born in villa del Carmen, Chihuahua. Sebastian married and had at least one son also named Sebastian. Eventually the family left Chihuahua and went to Texas where one of Cesario's sons, Felipe was born. From there the family moved to Arizona and settled in the Gila Valley/Yuma, AZ. I believe some family members are still in Texas and New Mexico as well as Chihuahua. Can anyone out ther help me? My e-mail address has changed to aztkprnses(a)sbciglobal.net

It states on the back of an OLD photo that Estevan Chavez and Lorena Burule (Gurule?) were married in Solomonville, Graham County, AZ on 20 Aug 1875. They had 13 children which were all born in Solomonville. I would like to track down that marriage record to find out who was listed as Estevan and Lorena's parents.
It is possible that the grandparents could be listed on the children's baptisms. Estevan and Lorena's children were:
Luisa, 21 Aug 1876;
Nicanor, 28 Dec 1877;
Hilario, 14 Jan 1880, d. 31 Jan 1955;
Jesus G. Maria, 27 Sep 1881;
Severiano, 11 Feb 1883;
Antonio, 17 Jan 1884;
Luisa, 03 Mar 1886;
Paula, 27 Jan 1888 d. 09 Jan 1979;
Francisco, 14 Dec 1889;
Esteven, 21 Dec 1891;
Julian, 28 Jan 1894 d. 22 Oct 1983;
Julian Chavez married Carmelita Bush 27 Nov 1919.
Lucia, 15 Dec 1895 d. 22 Feb 1934;
Anita, 18 Jan 1898 d. 16 Sep 1938.
This is the paternal family of Virginia Chavez Gonzales and she would love to find out more on her family. I am looking for information on Estevan Chavez and Lorena Burule (Gurule?) and what families they came from. Any good clues are appreciated!
