I am looking for information on the Chavez family who lived in Port
Hueneme, CA between 1900 and 1960. They were my great grandparents and I
understand they came from Michoacan, Mexico or maybe Morelos. My great
grandmother was MARIA EULALIA DESIDERIA GONSALES SANCHES and was born on
February 12, 1870 in Ciudad Hildalgo, Michoacan. She married Hipolito
Chavez but I don't know when. They had 7 children born in Mexico. I only
know the names of 5 children: Loretta, Leandra, Daniel, Maximiano,
Frank. Loretta was my maternal grandmother and was married 3 times
(SOLORIO, SUNIGA, POWERS). She died in 1991 in San Mateo Co., CA. I
cannot find any birth or marriage records on any of the children in
Ventura Co., CA. I wonder if there were other marriages. My grandmother
had 2 girls, Guadalupe (b 1919) and Emily (b 1920) and 2 boys George and
Frank. Again I can't find any birth or marriage records on these
children. Could they have been adopted? I'm at loss of where to search.
Could anyone help me with this. I would really like to complete this
family tree. I appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks,
Judy Dowell
