My CHAUVIN's did not come over on the May Flower, They missed the boat,
and had to wait for the next one, it was called the June Bug. When the
got off the Boat, they were escorted to a densely wooded area where they
would pitch their tents. Soon! it was decided that they needed to build
some houses and they all helped each other. My Chauvins/Shovans, had big
dreams, so their house was a four seater, two on each side. I guess that
they must have been expecting company! My GGG-GT Uncle Joseph Joseph
Chauvin Liked to play jokes on people. He would wait until someone went
out to use the house, and then go into the other side, kneel down and in
an angry voice yell, - Hey! stop that, can't you see that i am painting
down here! Well that did not go over very good with my GGGG-Grandmother
Elizabeth Chauvin/ Shovin. and she was determined to teach her son
Joseph Joseph a lesson. So she got the rest of the family together to
make their plan, They waited until they were sure that Joseph Joseph had
to use the house, and as soon as he stepped inside, they all started
nailing the door shut! J.J. was very surprised by this, but
mother-nature was calling, and he looked down at the seats only to find
that they had been boarded up! and then he looked over toward the corner
of the house, and saw a bucket of paint and a big paint brush. with a
sign that read, Let us know when you are done painting and we will let
you out! Well they made him stay in there for about 5 hours before
letting him out. and as the story go's, he was covered with more than
paint when he came out. The morel of this story is, NEVER mess around
with Mother Chauvin!
