Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
This is from another list, I wanted to share it with this list.

hi,
our chovin/chauvin are from springwells and greenfield, mi. the ribbon farm was #33 in what is now downtown dbn, mi. it was south of mich. ave. and west of schafer rd.
I can go back to the charles chovin/chauvin from 1701 in detroit and to jacques.
since my francis b 1821 and his father died 1824, it is unclear whether he was bapt. or what happened after francois died, except his mother became guardian of the children as listed.

thanks for the note. I am still trying to find my francis chovin baptism or birth cert. I find in my research that francois and abigail chovin had jeanne, john, eliz. charles and francis. they were listed in court papers that when francois died in 1824, abigail was listed as guardian. I am trying to find abigail kings family. I have found though other records that one of her relatives married an alter. The name was originally chauvin. It was said francois got mad and changed it so he didn't appear french. He bought a ribbon farm.
I will cont. to search and may find out about amanda.
