Subject: Re: [CHAUDOIN] Mrs S P "Lee" Chaudoin obit 1947 OK
When I saw the obit of Mrs. S. P. Chaudoin, at a quick glance I could not
identify who S. P. Chaudoin was so I set it aside until I could devote more
time to study it. I finally realized after a couple of hours of studying it
and trying to make since of it and I realized, like Audrey, that her husband
was William Henry Chaudoin. The S. P. in the obit is her name and not his.
Her given name was Syntha Ann Paralee Crafton and for it to read Mrs. S. P.
Chaudoin makes us think it was her husband's name. The additional statement
in the text that she married S. P. Chaudoin really throws one off. As far as
I can determine it is the only statement that is not correct. That one of
her daughters (has to have been Arlica/Arlie/Anlie Ola) married John
Bramblett is something I have not been to verify to date. I have not been
able to find any John Bramblett in AR or OK up to 1930 census.

According to research this is Synthia or Syntha Ann Paralee "Lee" CRAFTON. She was married 1882 to William Henry CHAUDOIN. They are given elsewhere as being the parents of 8 children. The obituary names her husband as S. P. Chaudoin, but that is incorrect as he was William Henry Chaudoin, as confirmed in the following censuses.

Wallace's parents were Byron Chaudoin and Mary Jane Cressman from the Hallettsville area in Texas (Lavaca County) Byron parents were early settlers there when it was part of Mexico, and they received a Spanish land grant of a league and labor of land. They came from Tennessee to Texas abount 1826. I think I have a photo of Wallace. Also have some info on the Chaudoin family.
