Thanks very much for the information. I am researching this line for a friend who is a descendant of John James Shadoan b 1844, son of Samuel. I am sure that he will want a copy of this will.

I have a copy of the 3/2/1888 will for Samual Shadoan that was proved on 8/28/1893.
It has been several years since I got this document & don't remember if it came from the KY State Archives Frankfort, KY)or the KY Genealogical Society (P.O. Box 153, Franklin, KY 40601). You might also contact the Pulaski Co. Historical Society, (Public Library Bldg., 107 N. Main St., P.O. Box 36, Somerset, KY 42502)to see if they have a Will Book now.
Sorry, I have no info on David Lester but would be interested to know what he knows as Samual was my GG Grandfather.
Good Luck!

I found a posting on the web by David Lester (aka "logicalconcern".) I have been unable to manage to contact him.
Does anyone have any information the 2 wills of Samuel Shadoan March 02, 1888, written/ Pulaski Co, Kentucky and August 28, 1893, proved/ Pulaski Co, Kentucky. Do transcriptions / copes of these wills exist out there somewhere?
Does anyone know how to contact David Lester about his Shadoan information ?
Thanks

I am researching the Shadoan family line for a friend. I have "organized" all the appx 525 Shadoan (and about 20 variations) of people / families in Pulaski CO, KY via Census 1830 to 1930. I have found Reuben, William in 1830 and Saml, Lucy in 1840 Census. Reuben is indicated as born in Virginia in 1850/1870 Census. I have found the Pulaski Co "earliest" marriage record of Samuel Shadowen to Sarah James on 25 Dec 1837. Samuel is indicated as born in KY in 1870 Census.
Does anyone know of definitive research documentation on Reuben/William AND/OR on who/when/how the Shadoan family came to Pulaski Co. ?? Any Birth/Death Records, Tombstones, Family Bibles, Wills, Marriages, etc. that would help definitively document these lines ?
Am aware of "Chaudoins of Virginia 1750 to 1900", but am a bit skittish about the quality of that document.
Any assistance / clues would be greatly appreciated.
Also happy to share results of Census research.
Thanks much.
