Hello Debbie Help me find Angelina Chaudoin, Byron's daughter. She was married and living in Ok. in 1908 when Wallace took his family to visit her. No one remembers her married name. thanks, blb
For your information RootsWeb and Ancestry have joined forces to present a
combined CHAUDOIN Bulletin Board. You will have to sign in and give
yourself a password. These appear to be similar to the ones you see on
GenForum. You may wish to post something to these newly improved boards.
There is also one called SHADOWENS. Be aware they are still developing this
site so some of the links or options may not all be functioning as they
intend.

Please be aware that the given information at http://www.ericjames.net/html/names16.htm#CHAUDOIN concerning the parents of Francois CHAUDOIN as being Alexandre CHAUDRON and Marie BOILEAU is NOT TRUE. This ancestry is FALSE and to continue to perpetuate this fallicy is doing a disservice to the CHAUDOIN family and to your own lineage. I have moderated the CHAUDOIN Discussion List for four years now, and can say with a certainty that this lineage is a falsehood. The Francois CHAUDRON given as the father of Francois CHAUDOIN died at age 2 years of age according to ORIGINAL records, and should not be construed to indicate that he lived to immigrate and father children of this family line. In fact there is NO evidence that the original name is CHAUDRON, and NO proof to this day has been forthcoming to prove what the original name was and from where Francois CHAUDOIN emerged.
I hope that you will accept this message as truth, so that CHAUDOIN researchers will not be misled further, and so that other researchers will not feel content in thinking that they are descended from this erroneous family line. The ancestors and family of Francois CHAUDOIN must be researched further. His true lineage is yet to be unearthed!
I have asked the webpage author to remove the false ancestry for Francois CHAUDOIN, which I am sure was posted in good faith. So, should you come across anyone with this erroneous lineage, please let them know what has been discovered. Hopefully someday we'll find the true family connection.

Wallace Chaudoin was my g-grandfather. The info you have on him is correct except he killed two men supposedly in self defense whether it was ofer a cow or not , I don't know. His father was a doctor and he was studying to be. They lived near Hallettsville Tx. He fled to New Mexico and Mexico before comming to La. where he married. His "outlaw" name was Bob Windom. He married under this name and his children were born under the name Windom. His children were Robert, Maude, Mae and Nancy [my grandmother]. Descendants of his children live in the centra and central east part of La now.
