Hi, Kaywin,
This is very interesting. Thank you for sharing. What a nice story! I
wasn't addressing the CHEROKEE CONNECTION. I was addressing the French
connection to the surname CHAUDRON...as NO. Hope that was understood by
all. Many of us have native American ancestors...both mine and my hubby's
go back to an early Dutch fur trader's marriage to a Mohawk Indian in early
New Amsterdam...and sad to say in records, her name is not given, except
that she was the dau/o a Sachem, AND wife of the Dutch fur trader.
Take care all.

married Tennessee Chaudoinon 2 Jul 1855 in Charlotte, Dickson Co.,
Tennessee,
They were the parents of James Monroe Kinslow.

Tennessee Chadoin was full blood indian and that her hair, coal black, would
reach the floor, while combing sitting in "cane bottom chair". Tennessee
Chaudoin "went back to her people" and James Monroe Kinslow was bound out at
12 to Henderson Proctor. He lived as slave received mule set free at 18. I
knew him, he was 6`2" tall was at least 1/2 Cherokee Indian. This info by
her dau-in-law and son James Monroe Kinslow.
Tennessee Chadoin was my gg grandmother.

O si yo
Is this the same Tennessee Chaudoin who is the daughter of William Reuben
Chaudoin and Elizabeth Stewart? William died on Aug 3 1846 in Dickson Co
TN. William, son of Francis and Sarah Weaver Chaudoin? If so, I have
her married to a Thomas Owens. I have her as Tennessee A. Chaudoin. She
would have been born around the first part of the 1800's. She had a
brother Lewellyn J. who married Elisha Jones and two sisters Elmira who
married Ezachial Smith and Emaline, who married Norfleet Jordan.
I have seen connections to Cherokee families, but now that you ask me, I
can't find the documents that I have. Will keep looking.
