Oops. When I said:

... I meant to be saying, "Could Joel EDENS b. 1777 Kanawha VA be
Rebecca's dad?"
(Which would mean of course that Jess & Dorothy were the grandparents.)

I have been told my Eliza Chaudoin was Cherokee. She lived in Green county
Ky and married George W. Fields in 1834. I also have found an Eliza Field
infant orphan of Wm Field who chose Andrew Chaudoin as her guardian. Does
anyone have any information on this family.
Thanks,

Re. Rebecca EDENS (1797 - 1870/80), wife of John Matthew CHAUDOIN (ca. 1792
- 1880):
Has anyone chased this link, or have any refutation or confirmation of this
speculation:
John & Rebecca had a son Joel (2'nd son, I believe it was). On a hunch
that he might have been
named after Rebecca's dad, I did an LDS IGI search... and found the
following from various submitters:
Joel EDENS b. 1777 Kanawha VA
Father = Jesse Jeremiah; Mother = Dorthy Wills Davis <= could
this be Rebecca's dad/mom???
D.W. Davis b. ca.1782 Bedford VA m. 10/30/1802 Bedford VA dad = DAVIS;
mom = Eliz. GIBBS
Jesse b. 1778 VA; d. > 1860 Jackson WV -- mom = Mary Ann b. ca. 1753 VA;
dad = David Wm. Edens -- b. [ca 1744 Jackson WV?; 1749 Lunenburg
VA?]; d. ca 1790 Bedford VA?]
Jesse's sister = Millie b. 1787 Jackson WV m'ed Jesse Hatcher
11/8/1808 Bedford VA
David's mom = Elizabeth d. < 1789 Lunenburg; dad = Theophelus - b. ca 1715
Spotsylvania VA d. > 1789 Lunenburg
Theophelus' mom = Rebecca b. ca. 1693 Spotsylvania VA; m'ed 1714
Spotsylvania
dad = William Edens b. ca 1690 Spotsylvania d.
2/2/1754 Lunenburg VA
(prob: Spotsylvania CO. - formed from Essex, Kng Wm
and King & Qn Co's, wasn't formed 'til 1721)
One submitter (Jesse J.> David > Theophelus) = Garry Cunningham 15014
Torry Pines, Houston, TX 77062
And submitted by Brian Frederick McLaughlin 3461 SW 2nd Ave. #333,
Gainesville, FL 32607:
William EDDINS was the son of William EDDINS & Rebecca HAWS for both
William Jr. AND Rebecca, it says
b. 1700 New Kent Co. VA d. 1754 Lunenburg VA <== which one
is it truly for?? If Rebecca, then it matches
the Rebecca EDENS above pretty much but Spotsylvania Co. is
not near New Kent Co
Not a problem. Thank you for that information, it will save me a lot of
time. - Regards Kim

I'm sorry, but can't help you. If you read the complete reference you would
see that at this time there is no known connection of CHAUDOIN to the
CHAUDRON surname. It was thought that at one time the basic family surname
was CHAUDRON by one researcher, but NO seasoned researcher has been able to
find any connection to a family named CHAUDRON. There is NO evidence that
supports any connection. Sorry. Wish I could be of more help. I don't
think anyone else on this list can help you either. If so, please let us
all know.
Good Luck,
Audrey
