Re: [CHAUDOIN-L] Re: chaudoin family line

Hello, Angela, Dave, & Interested Others,
Angela, what Dave is asking for is not meant to negate all of your cousin's
research, but to simply discover the records that are needed to truly
validate this family's lineage back to his ancestry in France.
If you prefer not to identify your source, PLEASE check with your source at
this time. Possibly new information has come his or her way to bring about a
change of thought. We would be interested in any new insight or
clarification of verified records.
For us, at this time, new information has come to light that no longer
pinpoints the people you have mentioned as the ancestors to Francis
CHAUDOIN, our Huguenot ancestor. So at this time, without legitimate
records, not hearsay, I have to make it clear that the ancestry you present
is not validated and needs to be researched further via original documents.
So far, even our very best SEASONED researchers (before the internet) of
this family cannot verify the CHAUDOIN lineage beyond Francis, the
immigrant. We are trying very hard to correct what appears to have been the
incorrect lineage for our CHAUDOIN ancestor, given with the best of
intentions. You may wish to check the CHAUDOIN RootsWeb Archives to see
what has been said, as the Francis CHAUDOIN of the family indicated died
very young, even though he was born at the same time as our immigrant...and
legitimate French records indicate this Francis' early death. You see, your
researcher may have had the birth date and believed then that they were the
one and same Francis CHAUDOIN. The death date may have been unavailable at
the time of his/her research.
Hope this helps you to understand the dilemma that many of us are facing.
If you don't wish to share the researcher's name, possibly you could
discover where the legal records are found that validate what you have said.
We really would appreciate your help in solving this riddle.
Thank you.
Audrey
