I forgot to ask in this forwarded message if anyone knows the ancestry of
this Thomas CHAUDOIN.

This came across another list. Thought some of you might be interested:
Clipping Preservation
Dissolve a Milk of Magnesia tablet in a quarter cup <2 ounces> of club
soda overnight. Pour into a pan large enough to hold the flattened
clipping. Soak the clipping for one hour, then pat dry. Do not move the
clipping until completely dry. Estimated life: 200 years."
This one makes a larger quantity of the solution Newspaper Preservation
One quart club sodaTwo tablespoons Milk of Magnesia
Mix in shallow container and let stand 24 hours until clear. Dip
newspaper into mixture and allow to soak for one hour. Dry on paper
towel. May need one or more books on top to flatten. After some use the
mixture will turn yellow but it will still be good. Store in refrigerator
in container clearly marked 'DO NOT DRINK'. Allow mixture to warm to room
temperature before use. This formula will not restore yellowed newspaper
but it will stop further deterioration.
IMPORTANT: This formula ONLY works for newspaper. It will ruin
documents or photographs!

REMEMBER WHEN.......
A computer was something on TV
>From a science fiction show
A window was something you hated to clean....
And ram was the cousin of a goat.....
Meg was the name of my girlfriend
And gig was your middle finger upright
Now they all mean different things
And that really mega bytes
An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A cursor used profanity
A keyboard was a piano
Memory was something that you lost with age
A CD was a bank account
And if you had a 3 1/2" floppy
You hoped nobody found out
Compress was something you did to the garbage
Not something you did to a file
And if you unzipped anything in public
You'd be in jail for a while
Log on was adding wood to the fire
Hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
And a backup happened to your commode
Cut you did with a pocket knife
Paste you did with glue
A web was a spider's home
And a virus was the flu
I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper
And the memory in my head
I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash
But when it happens they wish they were dead
Please go to this site for a friendly message. Just arrived home from a

Life's Lessons
I've learned that I like my teacher
because she cries when we sing
"Silent Night".
Age 6
I've learned that you can't hide a
piece of broccoli in a glass of
milk.
Age 7
I've learned that when I wave to
people in the country, they stop
what they are doing and wave back.
Age 9
I've learned that just when I get
my room the way I like it, Mom makes
me clean it up.
Age 13
I've learned that if you want to
cheer yourself up, you should try
cheering someone else up.
Age 14
I've learned that although it's
hard to admit it, I'm secretly glad
my
parents are strict with me.
Age 15
I've learned that silent company is
often more healing than words of
advice.
Age 24
I've learned that brushing my
child's hair is one of life's great
pleasures.
Age 26
I've learned that wherever I go,
the world's worst drivers have
followed me there.
Age 29
I've learned that if someone says
something unkind about me, I must
live so that no one will believe it.
Age 39
I've learned that there are people
who love you dearly but just don't
know how to show it.
Age 41
I've learned that you can make some
one's day by simply sending them a
little card.
Age 44
I've learned that the greater a

this need to cast blame on others.
Age 46
I've learned that children and

Age 47
I've learned that singing "Amazing

Age 49
I've learned that motel mattresses

Age 50
I've learned that you can tell a
lot about a man by the way he
handles these three things: a rainy
day, lost luggage, and tangled
Christmas tree lights.
Age 52
I've learned that keeping a
vegetable garden is worth a medicine
cabinet full of pills.
Age 52
I've learned that regardless of
your relationship with your parents,
you miss them terribly after they
die.
Age 53
I've learned that making a living
is not the same thing as making a
life.
Age 58
I've learned that life sometimes
gives you a second chance.
Age 62
I've learned that you shouldn't go
through life with a catchers mitt on
both hands. You need to be able to
throw something back.
Age 64
I've learned that if you pursue
happiness, it will elude you. But
if you focus on your family, the
needs of others, your work, meeting
new people, and doing the very best
you can, happiness will find you.
Age 65
I've learned that whenever I decide
something with kindness, I usually
make the right decision.
Age 68
I've learned that everyone can use

I've learned that even when I have
pains, I don't have to be one.
Age 82
I've learned that every day you
should reach out and touch someone.

holding hands, a warm hug, or just
a friendly pat on the back.
Age 85
I've learned that I still have a
lot to learn.
Age 92
I've learned that you should pass
this on to someone you care about.

yes your right, Guerrant is a link to the Weaver family and hence to the
Chaudoin's of VA. Frances married after her 1st husband died to a Nicolas
Salee as his second wife with living children grown, she had one daughter by
him called Mary Ann, but nothing is listed for her as to what happened to Mary
Ann Sallee, the will of Nicolas
did not revel anything as to any settlement on her. Frances gave the estate
back to his oldest son, and moved to Lancaster CO, VA. where she married
Samuel Weaver
as his third wife and her third husband. You might check that out to see who
her first family married, as Daniel Guerrant Sr. married in Holland to marie
L'orange. Jean L'orang was married to ? It is quite a complicated family
that twists and turns
and the only way you can fiure them all out is to have the books written on
the Huguenots/ They all got out of France as quick as they could after the
edict fo Nates. Westie GS
Carson, I did a research on the Chastain line, and they are listed as separet
family than the Chaudoin's . they have a hugenot listing in Mankin town, and
also have a lot of people on a family line of there own. Chastain in French
means Chestnut in English. I wrote to the man who headed the family history
and he lived in Pa.but has since died back about 1980. He has the same thing
as you. There should be a listing in Hugenot Society in NY. I looked in the
address book for Genealogists but find only the Heritage North at P.O. box
205, Colton, NY. 13625 or write to Main Library in NY, City, NY. The family
seems to follow our line near by but never intermarried to my knowledge.
While some are there very early in Ky. they move on a lot. I did find the
line up in MI. very early on with Pierre Chastain getting married for a second
or third time. They were fur traders and trappers. So the line is realy a
lot bigger than our's. WestieGS

Hi gang,
I took this from a passenger list at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/hugship.htm
+++++++++++++++
Huguenot Refugees on Board Ship Mary and Ann, August 12, 1700, Virginia,
James City:
Pierre Chastain, a femme et cinq enfants
Estinne Chastain
Quintin Chastatain et Michael Roux
There was also a link to a list of passengers from London to James River in
Virginia, being French Refugees imbarqued in the ship ye Peter and Anthony,
Galley of London, Daniel Perreau Commander (viz't) 20th of Sept. 1700...
but no CHAUDOINS or CHASTAINs there.
Anyone see any names that link to the CHAUDOIN line?
Hi,
This unattributed poem was shared today on another list and it seems
to fit some of our Chaudoins. Gave me a chuckle, too.
The Elusive Ancestor
I went searching for an ancestor, I cannot find him still.
He moved around from place to place and did not leave a will.
He married where a courthouse burned, he mended all his fences.
He avoided any man who came to take the U.S. Census.
He always kept his luggage packed, this man who had no fame,
And every 20 years or so, this rascal changed his name.
His parents came from Europe. They should be on some list
of passengers to the U.S.A., but somehow they got missed.
And no one else in this world is searching for this man.
So, I play geneasolitaire to find him if I can.
I'm told he's buried in a plot, with tombstone he was blessed;
but the weather took engraving, and some vandals took the rest.
He died before the county clerks decided to keep records.
No family Bible has emerged, in spite of all my efforts.
To top it off, this ancestor who caused me many groans,
Just to give me one more pain, betrothed a girl named JONES!
