The name Chatwood is an English derivation of Chetwood or Chetwode (pronounced the same).
Most of the early Chetwoods/Chetwodes originated in Shropshire, England, but prior to that they may have been from Chetwode (town) in Buckinghamshire.
In the early/mid 1600's a branch went out to Dublin, Ireland, but eventually filtered back into England.
There are descendants in Shropshire today, Chetwood being the name variant found in Shropshire and Chatwood that in Lancashire.

John; the only info I have is that Mellissa is buried in Parker Cemetary in Pananama City, Fla. My Aunt told me this and she is sure of this; she also says that Nancy is also buried in Pananama City , but this is where I get confused , i have a census report showing that Martin was married to Mellissa and Nancy, but other family members remember the name Mary Grey , so far I have not figured out which one is correct, I have tryed to contact cousins who are researching this too, and get some info from them, so far I have not gotten anything to help me; If you have anything from the 1920 census would you please forward this to me; I would very much appreciate it.

Hi Tawanna,
I wrote you last April regarding the Chatwood/Chattman connection, remember? Your response to Robert here states that you have information on where Martin Alexander Chatwoods wives (both) are buried. Is this Melissa and Nancy Gray? If you know where Nancy is buried, can you please forward that info.
Thanks. John.
