In honor of Family History Month, the LDS church has announced
the release of free access to the 1880 US, 1881 British, and the 1881
Canadian Census online at www.familysearch.org . Just look in the
left column where it says" US 1880, British and Canadian 1881
Censuses are now available online"
This text is a link that you can click. In the box that says *Census*
it will say *all*. Just click on the arrow on the right side of the
Census field. From here you can search through the: 1880 United
States Census, 1881 British Census, or the1881 Canadian Census.
Hello List,
Everything seems very quiet so thought I should introduce myself. I'm David
Greenhalgh and now live in Inverness, Scotland but was brought up in
Ramsbottom, Lancashire, England. My 3g-grandparent are Edward and Hannah
Chattwood. He was born in about 1776 (in Shropshire???) but their married
life was in Bury and Edenfield (both Lancashire). They had 7 children but
John Chattwood was my great-great grandfather and married Susannah HUNT. My
great-grandmother Alice Chattwood was their 12th child and married Joseph
Stukings.
At the moment I'm very busy working on an index which the publishers want
tomorrow but this time next week I should be able to surface and expand on
this information. By the way several people here are researching the family
and we have over 400 decendants of Edward and Hannah on our files in UK,
America, and Australia.
Regards
David Greenhalgh
