Serena, that is correct. Thomas Chetwin is our first Thomas Chattin, but in England. If you will notice in the Chattin book, that in the first Thomas Chattin court records, wills and deeds, etc. the name Chattin is pronounce in some form of Chetwin. So, what I did was search for that form of the spelling and made a connection in England. The first Chattin researchers were going in that direction and I just finish it. But, if any one would come up with something different, let us all take a look at it. Also, that is why I always say that most likely we are not connected with the Scottish Clan Chattan. But, if any one want to be connected with Clan Chattan that is okay, too.

Hey Ron! I forgot to ask you something. In the Chattin book that you sent me and I sent back to you with corrections on my end, the descendancy list ended with Thomas I2, Thomas Chetwin1). On your website it has Thomas I as the first Chattin in America. Did you find evidence that said Thomas I is the same as Thomas Chetwin? I was confused when I looked at it and I meant to ask you about it last night. Could you clear it up for me? You are the expert and I'm the novice trying to swim through all of this info. It gets rather confusing sometimes. That's why I'm glad you are an expert! You can tell me what I am doing wrong and what is confusing me. Thanks for all your help!
