Who are the 17th century Chatterton/Chadderton immigrants to north
America? I am aware of Michael Chatterton and of William Chatterton.
Were there others?
If we can identify the immigrants and some living male descendants with
the Chatterton surname, we could use Y chromosome DNA testing to see if
they were related to each other. This works because the Y DNA is passed
from father to son virtually unchanged. So we would compare the Y DNA
signatures of the descendants to see if the immigrants were related.
I have used this in the Parkins and Perkins Y DNA study. Results are
here:

Is there any interest in this?
