Hi, I would like to know more about a family feud that errupted in the Chatterton family a while back. After this fight part of the family changed its name to Chadderdon.
I'd like to know more specific details.

My g-g-g-g grandfather was Samuel Steel Chatterton who married Diane Kitchin on August 19th 1805. Both were born in the 1790s and were from South Kirkby and married in the All Saints Parish Church of South Kirkby in the West Riding of Yorkshire. Their daughter, my g-g-g grandmother, Mary Ann Chatterton married Timothy Nottingham, also of South Kirkby and had three children before he died. She then married my g-g-g grandfather John Vickers and had 4 more children. I have not been able to discover if Mary Ann Chatterton had siblings. Mary Ann Chatterton died in Varney, Ontario, Canada on Oct. 8 1876.
Mary Ann Chatterton's son, my g-g grandfather, John William Vickers named one of his sons after Samuel Chatterton. He was Samuel Chatterton Vickers and he lived in Grey County, Ontario. As I understand it, many of the Yorkshire families immigrated to Ontario and other parts of Canada and eventually on to the United States. My branch left Yorkshire in the mid 1800's and after two generations ended up in Texas. Did your Chattertons also come to the US through Canada?
I have marriage records for the All Saints Parish Church in South Kirkby (West Riding of Yorkshire) for the years 1754-1837. There are quite a few Chattertons, Steels, Kitchins and Vickers listed there. Let me know if you would like any more information...I'd be glad to send it on.
