Yesterday I examined the transcript of the subject bible. The
Chatterton's involved are Abraham Chatterton of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess
co., NY who married Elizabeth Swartwout, 20 July 1822. They had the
following children: Sarah Elizabeth b. 20 Apr 1823, Eley Ann b. 13 Sep
1825, John Swartwout b. 20 Mar 1827, Jacob Polhemus b. 28 Mar 1829, Henry
Hagaman b. 31 Mar 1831, Susan Loisa b. 1 Feb 1833, Abraham b. 8 Feb 1835,
Edward b. 10 May 1837, Caroline b. 18 Jun 1838, James Andrew b. 13 Nov
1841, Stephen Burow b. 4 Oct 1843, and Laurah b. 3 Dec 1846.
There's much more information in this bible transcript. If you'd like
further information on any of these let me know and I can send you all
the information. What I'd like to know is if anyone is looking for
Abraham Chatterton. I've been searching for George Chatterton from
Poughkeepsie also. The Poughkeepsie directories that I've looked at show
George and Abraham in Poughkeepsie from 1821 on. Since there are no
other Chatterton families I'd like to say that George and Abraham are
related, possibly brothers, but I can't confirm this. Does anyone out
there have any information that can confirm or refute their relationship?

My name is Dale Chatterton, living in Boise, Idaho. My great, great grandfather was William Chatterton and he was married to a Ann Wood. William was born sometime around 1806 and Ann was born sometime around 1810 to the best of my knowledge. Supposely they had three children. I'm not sure of their names. My great grandfather was named Jonathon Chatterton. I heard that there was and untimely dead of William and Ann, and that one of their children was thought to of move to Africa sometime around 1850. My grandfather immigrated to the U.S. in 1863. I too would like to know more. Dale Chatterton
