OK, Virginia, Please start with the state where Ft Stewart is located and
then county. Thanks..it sounds like Georgia or North Carolina, but then who
knows for sure.

Sorry, I wasn't more clear about WHERE Ft. Stewart is located.... and the
48 cemeteries listed in the publication "Ft. Stewart Cemeteries" by Wyman May.
IF you know you have ancestors buried in one of them, do write me, as that
would be a good way to start. We want to add more information about each grave.
The address is Hinesville..(Liberty Co)..but my understanding was that a
portion of it was at one time in Chatham County --- or at least one of the
cemeteries was located there. Bryan County for sure.
I honestly haven't seen the book, and just wanted to encompass everyone who
might have relatives buried there or who might have a copy of the
book. (W. May gave me permission to post it on-line, so we need to find
some volunteers to type it up)
Can anyone who really knows this area, help me out and explain? Thanks....

Peggy-
I was hoping you could tell me. I have no idea. Perhaps people should be a
little more clear when they write their emails.
Tomorrow is the big day. Daniel's 1st day of school. I'll let you know how
it goes.

I have just received permission from Wyman May to post on-line his
wonderful cemetery records for Ft. Stewart. I have not seen the book, but
I understand there are 48 cemeteries listed. (This is no longer available
for purchase, but it is probably in most area libraries. Please share this
information as well, if you know of a library which does have the book)
I am hoping that we can build a team of people who have the book and are
willing to type up a few cemeteries. Please drop me a note if you can help
out.
As we share this information, I'd also like to add details from individuals
who might know more about those buried there.
The heading for these cemeteries should always give credit to Wyman May for
his work, and list him as the copyright holder and "not to be used for
profit by any person or organization".
I am so grateful for his generosity in sharing this, and know that it will
benefit so many people who are not able to make the trip there themselves.
We must always remember that as we sit comfortably at our computers, Mr.
May spent hours and hours in surveying --- a very dirty, hot and tedious job!
