Hello,
I'm Jim Chatham of Naples, FL. My great grandfather was George Washington
Chatham of Itawamba Co. MS, born 24 Aug 1854. The earliest record I can find
on him is the 1860 Census for Tishomingo Co MS, where he is shown (age 6)
along with his brother William R. Chatham (age 9), both living in the
household of Nathan "Boon" Foster (age 24, b. SC) and Martha Foster (age 25,
b. AL). Family lore has it that George and Williams were orphans, but quite
possibly Martha was the mother. George and William were born in AL according
to the listing. I've been searching unsuccessfully for the father. Can
anyone help?

I have my Great great Grandfather, William Chatham, who's daughter Maggie (Margaret) md., Elias Rose Banning. I believe they were in Vermillion or Bond County. During the late 1800's they were in or near Greenville Illinois. I have a little on this line and a great photo of William. Thanks. Carol Marston cmarston(a)bytethis.com
Hi everyone,
First I would like to apologize for not introducing myself.
I am Jacque Hopkins Wolski and adopted this list quite a while ago that I can't remember when I adopted it.
One reason I adopted the list is because I need help with my lines as most people do who join mailing lists. I try to help where I can and try to point people in a direction to find an answer or ask the subscribers to help. I also forward messages sent to me directly from non-subscribers in hopes one of you can possibly help or give suggestions of where to look for the information.
For those of you that are new to mailing lists, a Roll Call is where you send a message to the list on who you are looking for. You might put in the subject line the surname, given name with a year/date and state. In the body of your message, put as much information as you can. And it is also for all of us to see who everyone else is looking for and there might be new subscribers who can help those of us who have been on here for a while. It could help each of us find that connection we are looking for.
I like to wish everyone good luck in their search and want to let everyone know I am a relaxed mail list owner and don't get offended easily with what some might call non-genealogy related posts. But do not take to flaming each other about each other's posts, or calling someone dumb, or not liking what someone else said. We each have a delete key on our keyboard and I use mine quite often.
With all that said, please post who you are looking for.

My mother never knew her biological father. Her mother told her on her death
bed that she had a different father than she had grown up knowing. All she
knows is his name and that my grandmother knew him in Orlando. Also that he
moved to Los Angeles, CA. He has red hair and blue eyes and is Jewish (which
is odd considering my grandmother was a devout Catholic and very
prejudicial). Actually, for her to even have had an affair is really odd. My
grandmother always preached about principles and being proper, etc. I have
found information on the Social Security Death Index for Los Angeles,
California. I haven't done anything with that information as of yet. I've
been very busy. Anyway, I think that's about it.
