Just found a book called "The Lapeer Area, Michigan," by Catherine Ulrich Brakfield, available through Barnes and Noble in Ebook. I am related through marriage to Irene Delores Chatfield Fenner, father Peter Chatfield, and husband Lloyd B. Fenner. Lloyd Fenner was my grandmother's brother.

Looking for father of Irene Delores Chatfield, born about 1912 in Canada, died June 25, 1973, in Lapeer, MI. She is listed in the 1921 Census with her mother, Edarill Chatfield, as head of household, and 2 younger sisters, Adaline Chatfield born 1917, and Ethel Chatfield born 1910. Irene Chatfield married my great uncle, Lloyd B. Fenner, born April 21, 1912, in Michigan. They married July 11, 1939, and had 2 children, Melvin and Marvin. I am looking for her father's name and place of birth. The story in our family is that she was a Chief's daughter. I have only recently discovered that she is listed on the Michigan censues as white race, but I remember her from childhood and she was Native American. Any help would be appreciated.
