Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Thanks for your message - I think we've corresponded before (I'm the descendant of Eli via his Eli (second attempt at the name!). There is a Chatfield jewellers in Sussex (branches in Uckfield and Seaford) which may have connections to Eli. Or possibly not.

They also adopted a William Scott (Bales) . I know this because this was my father and as a child we went on vacation to Venita, Or where they lived. Dad had helped them move from WI. Arvilla and Archie are in a cemetary at the edge of Eugene,Or, and Walter,Ralph and William are in a cemetary in Island Lake, WI I'm not sure what cemetary Olive is at. Olive was married to Harry Grigsby. Her sons name was Stanley Grigsby they lived in Albany, Or.
Zina Bradley Chatfield was I believe Walters Great Grandfather.

Zina Bradley Chatfield was my Great Great Grandfather and was an officer in the civil war. I know nothing about leaving a son and going back east. I have a drawing of a monument that was suppose to be errected for his civil war unit I believe and Samantha was to chose where it was to be placed. Chatfield ,MN was as I've been told named after him.
