Message Board Post:
Hello. I have just found out this morning that one of my husband's aunts married a Thomas CHATFIELD. She was Florence McLAUGHLIN, and was the niece of Mrs. Annie (McLAUGHLIN) GAVIN in Cambridge, MA. I believe Annie and her husband adopted Florence.
All I know so far is that Thomas and Florence seem to have been both born in MA in 1906. I might be able to find the parents of Florence - which would help me to find the parents of Annie. But, I was wondering if anyone knew the parents of Thomas.
I checked census information and it is not a common name. There was an average of 20 CHATFIELD people in MA between 1900 and 1920. Thomas might have been in Waltham, MA. (I can't check the 1930 census.)
Thomas and Florence CHATFIELD lived in Cambridge and they had a son, Thomas, Jr., and a daughter. I don't know the married name of the daughter but I believe she also lived in Cambridge.
Betty (near Lowell, MA)
