Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Ray,
If you are using Word as your email editor try using plain text or rich text
format. This may or may not be the cause of your dilemma.
Cheers
Rob

Ray,
Unless someone else on the CHATFIELD list is receiving their digest mail as
an attachment -- mine continues to arrive as a regular email post -- then it
must be a problem on your end. Is there anyone on the list who might be
able
to shed some light on this dilemma?? Would some kind person who uses OE
please let us know if that might be the cause of Ray's chronic problem with
attachments?
Thanks for any help!

Does anyone have any information on the Chatfield family in Rotherfield,
Sussex. In particular a John Chatfield born @ 1772. Believe his parents to
be Mary & William Chatfield. John was married and died in Kent.
Do these Rotherfield Chatfields go back to Robert of Cuckfield born in 1622?
Thanks for any help.

Ray,
The problem is probably with your use of Outlook Express -- it has a habit of
altering sent and received mail. I receive CHATFIELD list mail in both the
regular mode and digest mode, and CHATFIELD digests never reach the size that
would generate an attachment. Both Digest V02 #1 and Digest V02 #2 arrived
as an e-mail to my AOL address.
You might try rechecking your settings to see if there is something that is
causing your list mail to arrive as attachments. Another suggestion would be
to switch your mail from digest to regular mail mode, which would eliminate
the problem altogether.
Contact me directly at TimeTrvlrO(a)aol.com if I can help you make any changes
in your subscription.
Thanks,
LaRae

Susan Chatfield was born about 1867. Both her parents died before the 1880 census. They were Robert L. "Fred" Chatfield and Harriet Morris. Susan was raised in Yamhill Co., Oregon by her Morris grandparents - William S. and Susannah Morris. Did Susan Chatfield marry?? If so, to whom?? When did she die? Other family members are buried in Pike Cemetery, Yamhill co, Oregon. Thank you, Kathleen Rizer

Susan,
Thanks for your response. I am still trying to figure out just how my Isaac B. Dixon m. Celia Cate Dixon relates to Amanda Friend. They both are in Floyd Co, Ky and both in Lawrence Co, OH. There are disputes about all this amongest various Friend researchers. They are family, but danged if I can figure out how.
Later,
Joyce

Hi Joyce,
Are you looking for Amanda's parents?
Here are the notes I have on Seth & Amanda:
Seth Chatfield died 6 Aug 1865 in Nashville, Tenn shortly after the Civil War while still in the Army. His body was brought home by George W. Chatfield, son of his brother Rausel, and buried in a metallic casket in the Charles McCoy graveyard.
He married 12 Apr 1845 Amanda S. Friend, dau of William and Mary Catherine Friend. She was born 20 Aug 1823 in Floyd Co. Ky. Amanda died 25 Aug 1864 leaving Seth with 5 children. Abraham G. Friend, Amanda's brother, was
administrator of Seth's estate (what little there was) and Seth's brother Stephen Chatfield was appointed guardian of the minor children. Seth and Amanda were married by the Rev. James Kelley.
