Do you have any idea what the F is for in John F.? In my family its either Fox or Foxworth. The Chasteen's came into America mostly thru Va. approx.1700, there most went south
into Rockcastle Co. Ky.for instance and from there Chasteen families split off to the Carolina's, on south westward to Ga. Texas. Some went back north to Indiana and on north and west from there. If you find your strain in Ky. then let me know and maybe I can help you out more.
Good Luck and God Bless
