Audri Badman-Chasteen
Hello All,
I am trying to find information on the Chasteen & Johnston families
from Winchester-Ford, Kentucky and Hamilton, Ohio area.
Here is what I have and need help with:
Need first name for: Male Chasteen born 12/9/1867-d.11/24/1961
buried Millville Cemetery, 5 miles from Hamilton, Ohio. We have a
picture of him but no one can remember his name except for grandpa
Chasteen!!!
Besides our Wallace Chasteen b. 2/22/1916-d. 11/24/1969 buried
Elmore, Ohio he may have had two daughters by the name of Lillian or
Margaret. I also have a picture of Lillian & Margaret but don't know
if they were the children or sisters of the male Chasteen born 1867.
My husband thinks Lillian married a Robert Jordan.
Wallace Chasteen married Mary Frances (Johnston??)born about Dec.
1892 and died in Hamilton,Ohio March 27, 1920. She is buried
somewhere around Ford, Kentucky. She may have been the daughter of
Mary M. Johnston (about 1861-d.Feb.1952. I know Mary M. Johnston was
in Ford, Ky. around 1949 because I found a letter written to Blanche
Chasteen with Ford, Ky., as the return address. Also written on the
back of the envelope was "my last letter from grandma Johnston who
passed away Feb 1952 at the age of 91."
Wallace & Mary F. Chasteen had three children: 1. Blanche born
1916-d.1990; 2. William A. b.2/1916-d. 11/24/1969; Wallace (Burnis)
b.1916-d. 1987.
Wallace remarried to a Ruth ? and had four more children and moved to
Ottawa County, Ohio. Don't know what year he remarried or moved.
I also found an obit for Amanda J. Miller wife of Calvin Miller, a
daughter of Larry and Annie Parker. It lists siblings, Marie
Johnston, Lawrence Johnston and Asa Moreland.
Don't have any idea how they "fit in" the family line.
Both my husband's parents are deceased and neither he nor his
siblings know anything about their grandparents or great grandparents.
So any help or leads would be a blessing!
Thank you,
Kathy Chasteen
