Hi !! I was asked this, and didn't know the answer, so I wondered if any of y'all know. Do the Chasteen/ains have a coat of arms ? If so, what does it look like ?
Laura

with someone else.

Hi Laura--
Thanks for the info. I was always told that Chasteen was an Americanized
version of the French Chastain, but I didn't know for sure. I guess this
helps explain why people recently returned from France tell me I look
French. Having never been to France, I had no idea what they meant.
I'll check out the Chastain family site and see what I can turn up.
Best,
Bonnie

Hi--
Somebody asked me recently if Chasteen is an Irish or French name. No one
in my family is sure where it came from. Can some one please tell me the
origin of this name?
Thanks
