I believe the John Wesley Chastain was working at the
Smelter department in the mining operations of the Tennessee
Copper Co in Copperhill, Polk Co, Tn. This is a state line community where Fannin Co, Ga is only one half mile away.
The Fannin you refer to is probably a nickname for Francis.
The child Ola you referred to in previous post m Raymond Fortner, now deceased neighbor of mine. One of the other sisters married a Panter(TN), Ruth I believe m a Taylor and lived in Blue Ridge, GA. You are correct in the Flint Hill voting dist as JOhn W lived in an area called Epworth. I also believe I am correct in the fact that the family
lived for some time in Alabama in an earlier generation.
Check for these names in Polk Co, Tn and Fannin Co, GA and
I believe you will find the entire family. Francis moved
away and m in another state (Michigan?) but returned and lived in both Fannin and Polk Co the last years of her life.
I think that at Ola's death the Chastain family Bible was to
go to one of the younger sisters in Blue Ridge - either
Lucy or Ruth. I do hope this helps in your search.
Gwen

The January 23, 1920 census of Flint Hill, Fannin County, Georgia shows an 11 year old Fannie Chastain, born in Tennessee, whose father was John W. Chastain, born in Georgia about 1885. Her mother's anme is unclear, but could be Eviline. She had sisters, Ruth (age 8), Ola (age 7), Nioma (age 4) and Lucile (age 9 months). Ruth was the only child born in Georgia; the others were born in Tennessee. If this is the right family, maybe I can find more information for you.

Friend Frank Chastain, born October 1868, was the brother of my Great Grandmother, Mary Selena "Molly" Chastain McCollum, who married William E. McCollum October 28, 1888 in Cobb County, Georgia. I can trace the Chastain line back to France in the late 17th century, but have lost track of them going forward from Molly (excpet my own line, of course).

I have a Lillie Pearl Chastain, daughter of Friend Frank Chastain and Lucinda Buchannon, who was born in October 1892 in Cherokee County, Georgia. She last appeared with the family in the 1910 census as a 17 year old. In fact, I can't find any of the family after April 20, 1910. She had siblings: Iola, born in June 1889; Clarence, born in 1902; and Grace L., born in 1906.

Fannie Pearl Chastain White Abt 1900-1937, race is white...was living in Seminole County (maybe Donalsonville) Georgia, at time of death. (Chastain...not sure of spelling. Sounds like Chasteen, Chastaine. Not sure if maybe Chastain was a married name. Possibe she was married to a Chastain, then married a White). Possibly lived in Texas before coming to/back to Seminole County Georgia in the early 1930's, where she had two children. She possibly was married in TX or GA to a White, other than the White I list next. She had two children in Seminole, the children's father was Thomas Franklin White. Children: Ada Pearl White b. 1931 and Norman Eddie White b. 1934. Fannie Pearl is buried in Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville. I think maybe Fannie Pearl's family was from Seminole/Decatur/Early. I would love to know ANYTHING about her or her siblings and parents.
Thomas Franklin White moved from Donalsonville after the death of Fannie Pearl. Relocated in Foley, AL.
