The Judith Chastain (1703) that you put as d/o Pierre & Anne Soblet
Chastain was she the woman who was either married to Stephen Panetier
(Stephen Pankey s/o Jean & Elizabeth Voyer Panetier (John Pankey) or had
children by him? Thanks

Hi Steve!
I just returned from Richmond, Virginia and the Pierre Chastain family
reunion. There were only 29 there, but we had a great time anyway. I
have
confidence in Bill Fenn, our new president. We have lacked real
leadership for
several years.
Yes, Steve what you have is the correct lineage of Pierre, the
imigrant.
The dates we used are slightly different, but not much. Here is what
we have:
1. ESTIENNE CHASTAIN - either the father or grandfather of Jacques
Chastain
2. JACQUES CHASTAIN, b. ca. 1598-1600, m. Jeanne Audet before 1625; d.
before 1675
Children of Jacques Chastain and Jeanne Audet:
i. Estienne Chastain, b. 1625; m. Jeanne Laurent before 1652; d.
1694
or later
ii. Jacques Chastain, (no further data)
iii. Anne Chastain, bpt. 25 Feb 1655
iv. Jeanne Chastain, bpt. 11 Feb 1657
v. Pierre Chastain, bpt. 9 Apr 1659
vi. Jean Chastain, bpt. 10 Aug 1661
vii. Marie Chastain, bpt. 3 Feb 1664
viii. Marie Chastain, bpt. 27 Feb 1667
3. PIERRE CHASTAIN, bpt. 9 Apr 1659; m. 1) Susanne Renaud; 2) Anne
Soblet;
(3) Magdalene
Trabue
Children of Pierre Chastain and Susanne Renaud:
i. Jean Adam Chastain, bpt. 1690
ii. Marie Susanne Chastain, died young
iii. Pauline Elizabeth Chastain, died young
iv. Arthuze Chastain, died young
v. Jeanne Francoise, died young
vi. Pierre Samuel Chastain, died young
vii. Susanne Chastain, died young
Children of Pierre Chastain and Anne Soblet:
viii. Judith Chastain, b. ca. 1703
ix. Susanna Chastain, b. ca. 1705
x. Pierre Chastain, b. ca. 1707
xi. Mary Chastain, died young
xii. Elizabeth Chastain, b. ca. 1711
xiii. Rene Chastain, b. ca. 1713
xiv. Janne Chastain, died young
xv. Marie Magdalene Chastain, b. ca. 1720
When you mentioned back to the time of William the Conqueror, I knew
there
was no true lineage back that far, and I didn't want you to connect
onto the
wrong lineage.
Sincerely,
Robert Leishman, Historian
Pierre Chastain Family Association
