Can you provide any additional information about A.P? Specifically, where
was he immediately before and after the Civil War? Names of any children?
When and where was Martha born?

The only information I have about him is from the Pierre Chastain Family
Association book about the descendants of Pierre Chastain. I checked the
web site of the South Carolina Department of Archives and History and they
had a couple of documents that mention him, but none that mention his
family.
It's possible that land records exist that might name his wife in a
release of dower or children, if he gave or sold them land. I've gone over
most of these records from the 1780s to the 1840s and only recall one
Chastain and that wasn't Peter.
I'll see if I can find anything and will let you know.

I am looking for the parents of George Washington Chastain born around 1875 give or take a few years. He married Annie L. Couey born around 1876. THey had a total of 6 children. Most sites I have been to only list 3 of the kids. Henry, Bar(b)ra J, and David Aron or D.A. They leave out Annie, Mozell and my great grandmother the twin to Mozell.. Rochelle. I was wondering if anyone knew who George's parents were of if anyone had any additional information they were willing to share with me.
Many thanks in advance,

It is my understanding that Pierre learned and spoke English, and
encouraged the other immigrants to do so, in order to prosper. "True
Chastains" here are Americans and not ashamed of it, but proud of the
contribution our ancestor made to the founding of this country. After
nine or ten generations, come on, we must acknowledge our other ancestors
mingled with old Pierre's dna. Do we also need to learn to speak German,
Celtic, Italian, Spanish, etc.?
