Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Does this list only contain listings about the Pierre Chastain descendants.
My interest is in Chastains ( or variations on that name ) that were in
Attala, Ala. around the late 1800's or so and had some Cherokee blood.
Can anyone help me with this?
Does anyone know who the Florence Chastain is that married J. R. BISHOP on 23 Oct. 1900 in Gilmer Co., GA?

I have some information on your Chastain families.
I have that Benjamin Lewis Chastain was married to Lena Mae Dudley.
Herbert D. Chastain was married to Lucy Collins.
I would love to fill in some of my blanks on this family.

I'm looking for information on Levina Mercilla Chastain, b. 29 Jun 1825 Rabun Co., GA (we think). She was the daughter of Rev. Jehu Chastain and Marth Carter. Levina married William Bradshaw, b. abt 1819 NC. As a family, Levina and William were in the 1850 census of Union Co., GA, then by 1860 Levina and children were in the Bell Co., TX census for Belton Twp. By 1870, the family had relocated to Benton Co., AR where Levina's parents were living.
Levina remarried to William Thompson in Tahlequah, OK...and he preceded her in death before 1898. I would like to know when and where Levina died and where she is buried. I know she was alive in 1898 and living in Orchard, AR (later known as Gentry), but after that we lose her.
I would appreciate any further information. Thanks.
Mike
