Interesting that you would also have the same names. I don't have any more information on Effie Mae Chastain other than what I posted in my original message. I got her birth place from the marriage registration. I have no idea where her family is actually from. However, I do know that she had a son living in OK in the mid 1950s. In a history book it was noted that she moved to be with her son after her husband died. Maybe we should communicate more. Please contact me direct at iwatson(a)swbell.net

My married name is Chastain but my maiden name is Wynn. I was wondering who the unknown Wynn is. Would the unknown Wynn's name be George Wynn by chance? Also my first husband is a Tony Lee Chastain. My second husband is a James Aaron Chastain Jr. I know alot of Wynn's from Harlen Co., Ky. and I know alot of Chastains from Georgia & Florida. If any of these names sounds familiar I have alot of information you would like to know.
I'd be interested to know "which" Rene Mildred was a daughter of and also,
if you have any more information about William Ayres' family.
I have an Elizabeth Benicia AYRES who married Rev. Rene Chastain's son,
Martin, and have never been able to tie her into a family. I thought I had
found her parents but that Elizabeth evidently married someone else.
Have this note in my Family Tree Maker:
In a message from Jim Anderson on 3/17/01, he writes:
I do not know if it is the same John Ayres, but according to my records a
John Ayres, resident of Buckingham County, VA, was the son of Mattias Ayres
b. London 1700, dying in Buckingham county in 1782 and Elizabeth Hales.
John's wife was Jane Sallee, daughter of William Sallee. John and Jane had
a daughter, Magdalen, who married William Chastain, son of Rene and Martha
Chastain. Another daughter, Susan or Susannah, married Charles LeSueur, son
of Chastain LeSueur who was of the line of Elizabeth Chastain, daughter of
Pierre, Sr.

The above was sent to the AYRES list and I found it interesting that the

families...where the Chastains came from.

And this:
The Ayers/Ayres of Buckingham County, Virginia seem to have no relationship
to the Ayers of Woodbridge New Jersey. The Buckingham County group seems to
begin with Matthias Ayres who was born about 1700. Family tradition is that
he and his wife emigrated about 1720 from London, England.
