Dear cousins,
My name is Karine Chastaing.
Im sorry not writing about genealogy, as you might expect, but I thought
this list could be a good solution for my investigations !
I live in Paris and I study chemistry at the ENSCP and i am in 4th year of
higher education.
I would like to carry out a four-month internship in the US
from april to august in a company doing research in
chemistry. This would concern many scientific fields :
pharmaceuticals, material science, organic chemistry...
If you know someone working ( or if you work ! ) in such a
company, it would be great if you could contact me !!!
Thank you very much for paying attention to my demand
Best Regards,
Your French cousin, Karine Chastaing

I belive this might be Richard sister, But not 100% sure. I been doing research on a Richard J born Dec 1843 according to the 1900 Census. He various census say he was born in MS. There was a lot of marriage in 1869 in McLennan Co Tx.
The wife name listed for the Richard was Elizabeth Wadkins, but other records say Watkins. The H Chastan was amoung that listing.
Sorry I could not be of more help at this time.

Dear Sybil - I'm sorry - I have had computer problems off and on and was not even aware of this message until I received your next message today. I have taken the position of Staff Development Coordinator at an SNF and have had NO time to work on my family tree lately. The person you need to contact is my cousin, Jeanne. She is descended from Pierre Louis Chastain also and she is the one who gave me the information I have. She has been a member of "The Chestnut Tree" - periodical published by the Pierre Chastain Family Tree Assoc. - her e-mail address is jeduclos(a)charter.net.

Nobody has mentioned my wife's Chastain family in Missouri:
Francis Marion Chastain, born Oct 2, 1831 in Rhea Co., TN, died May 25, 1906 in Scotland, Jasper Co.,, MO married to Sarah Margaret Downing. They had 13 children - 12 born in Lawrence Co., 1 born in Christian Co., MO
Francis was the son of John C. Chastain and Louisa (Chapman?)
Does that help?

I'm also a descendant of William and Annie through their son William (Bill). You list 2 daughters I haven't found in my research, Sheila and Eliza. Do you have birthdates/birthplace for them as well as the other children. Also, William (Bill) and most of his children removed from Union Co SC (per 1850 census) to Cobb Co GA prior to 1854. Did any of his brothers/sisters go with him?

I too come through Elizah and I would love to have a picture, and any information on this line. Thank you for being so kind to share.
Loyce is correct. Never erase a file from your system just because
someone you may not know all that well tells you to. The internet is a
good place to find lots of info on any supposed "virus". You could erase
a system file or even worse.
