Are you a descendant of the Chastains in Brown County? I have quite a bit of information as well as contacts to relatives. The Chastain's married the Fry family (my line) Primarily what I have is from those marriages...

Looking for ancestry of my great-grandmother. Not sure of spelling of her name. Could be Georgie, Georgia, Georgey, Georgina? Probably born around 1900-1915. Her daughter, my grandmother, Lorene Holt was born in Caney, KS in 1932. I think there were Chastains living in this area. I saw Georgie's name in a book of Chastain descendants one time, but didn't get a chance to copy any info and don't remember the name of the book. She also had a son named A.D. and daughters Marie and Lou. Might be more that I don't know of. Would appreciate a look-up from anyone with a Chastain genealogy book.
Do you know --
- Vol. I of Pierre Chastain and His Descendants is still available, and
you can get it at the reunion?
- Tim Chastain, Sponsor of this CHASTAIN LIST will be there to explain
how it works & answer your questions?
It sounds better all the time, doesn't it?

Thanks again for your information. The family bible I spoke of is from the Cox family. With the exception of two Landreth names and J. A. Chastain, it contains all Cox family names. Sarah Elizabeth Ann Cox was the person I mentioned.
I have always believed there is or was some connection from him to the Cox family to account for having Mr. Chastain's name written in with the family members. Perhaps I will find it someday, if your clue about his wife being a Landreth isn't already the most important thing to know.
I am a member of PCFA and want my name on the Chastain line but recently started receiving 2 copies of every chastain-l message. Some I have to "Open up" and o'k . I now have the Sircam.Worm virus all thru my computer. This is the only messages that I would o'k when I don't know the person the messages are coming from. Personally I would like to not receive any more messages from this Roots Web message board Post that is garewayed to the chastain mailing list. I still want to be on the chastain line but the mail that we are receiving from this message board we have no way of knowing who the people are and have to accept blindly. Question Is there a way to receive the Chastain-L e-mails and not the other ones? If so let me know so that I can unscribe from this gatewayed line. Thanks R.T.
My records show John Abner Jr., John Abner, Samuel Denton (his wife),
Rev. John Chastain. My records have no children listed as yet for
Charrie Landreth. I would sure like to fit together some of those
