Lola,
I emailed you from my yahoo mail. I have not heard back yet, what do you want
to know and what do you know about the Chastains.

I tried to send some information to C-FALLISON(a)prodigy.net. He had left a
query on the Chastain website. Does anyone know how to get in touch with
him? The e-mail address given at the Chastain website has evidently been
changed or something. It would not go through.
If you know this person, please contact me.

Loyce - that is the only one, I was just checking Vol. 1, to see if maybe
there might be a clue in there, and there were so many John's I couldn't
decide. There is only one that according to years might possibly be a
father, but nothing for sure. So I just decided to put the obit here and
anyone that knew who and where would have the info.
When I do come across obits, I do list them.
Best always, Janet Cavender/Chastain
Dear cousins,
I was at the courthouse in Morris County Texas gathering documentation and I
usually write down anything about Chastains, this is the first time I have
sent anything in, these are not in my line but the info may help someone
else.

Thanks Loyce -- I'll contact Janet. I don't yet know who the LeSueur is in
the obit, but suspect it just possibly may be Howard's, since they were in
Pennsylvania. The only thing is, they changed THEIR spelling to Leasure
sometime in the mid 1800s.
Love, Polly

Janet -
I forwarded your LeSueur obit to Polly Dixon because right now she is the
"clearinghouse" for LeSueur's. She would like to get a LeSueur association
going but she can't do it all by herself. If you know any LeSueur's who
might be interested, let Polly know. I have copied her so you will have her
address.
In this morning's paper from Franklin, Indiana was this obit.

Dear Del and Susanna,
We finally arrived back home to Colorado at 10:30 p.m. on Friday after our 10
colorful trip to the East! We had wonderful weather and no road problems.
What a wonderful trip it was.
You and the reunion committee are to be commended for the wonderful reunion
at Richmond. It was so good to see people we had not seen since the reunion
in Colorado, and to meet so many new ones. Maxine and Nadine and I are so
very appreciative of the program offered at the reunion. Saturday's events
were such fun (even the treck through the wet grass). The day at Manakin was
just great. And thanks to all the speakers on Saturday, the history of the
family from France to America and the early years here were wonderfully
brought to light for us.
I was so pleased to see so many at the banquet. Thank you again Del and
Susanna and the reunion committee for a wonderful reunion. It was one that I
personally will never forget.
Love to all,
Bob and Maxine Leishman
and Nadine Beckenbach
Have you searched the indian rolls? "Cherokee By Blood" mentions some
Chastains if I remember right. Steve

Here is what info we have on him but is not complete. Also would like to
know if anyone has an obituary for him?
JOHN WITHROW CHASTAIN b. 11 Aug 1824, Union Co., GA; d. 12 Jun 1880. No
place indicated but presume it was Union Co., GA since he is found there on
the 1850, 1860 & 1870 Census records. Children were:
1. Margarett b. 1848
2. James J. b. 1852
3. Wm. N. b. 1855
4. John A. b. 1859
5.(male ch - name illegible on census record)
Are there more children than these five?
